Schenectady Police Investigate Shooting Incident on Albany Street

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Schenectady Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in the area of Albany Street and Kelton Avenue. Officers responded to a report of shots fired at approximately 7:56 a.m. and discovered a male victim who had been attacked but not struck by gunfire.

Upon arrival, police found the victim with non-life-threatening injuries sustained during a physical altercation with the suspect following the shooting. The victim was transported to Ellis Hospital for treatment, and a handgun was recovered at the scene.

The Schenectady Police Department’s Detective Division and Crime Scene Unit are actively investigating the incident. No suspects are in custody at this time.
