New York, N.Y. — The New York Lottery announced that a third-prize-winning Powerplay ticket worth $250,000 was sold for the August 17 Powerball drawing.
The winning ticket was purchased at Smokes 4 Less, located at 59 North Plank Rd in Newburgh.
Powerball numbers are drawn from a field of 1 to 69, with the Power Ball drawn from a separate field of 1 to 26. The Power Play option allows players to multiply non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times. Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
