Manassas Man Arrested After Accidentally Shooting Woman With Gun

MANASSAS, Va. — A Manassas man was arrested on Saturday evening, August 17, 2024, following an incident in which a firearm was recklessly discharged, resulting in injury to a family member. The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. at a residence in the 8200 block of Wycliffe Court.

According to the investigation, Travis Lamont Singletary, 27, was handling a firearm when it accidentally discharged, striking a 27-year-old female family member. Singletary immediately rendered aid to the victim, who was later transported to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

No additional injuries or property damage were reported.

Following the investigation, Singletary was arrested and charged with reckless handling of a firearm.

He is currently being held without bond, and his court date is pending. The investigation is ongoing.
