NYPD Seeks Public’s Help in Identifying Suspect in Armed Robbery

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a robbery that took place in Brooklyn early Wednesday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 2:18 a.m. on August 14 at a store located at 871 3rd Avenue within the 72nd Precinct.

According to police reports, an unidentified male entered the store and brandished a knife, threatening a 66-year-old male employee. The suspect demanded money, subsequently taking approximately $800 from the cash register, along with store merchandise and the victim’s phone. The suspect then fled on foot, heading northbound on 3rd Avenue. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The NYPD has released an image of the individual captured on surveillance footage and is urging anyone with information about the suspect or the incident to come forward. Authorities ask that tips be provided to the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.

“The safety of our community is a top priority, and we are asking for the public’s help in identifying this individual,” the NYPD said in a statement.
