Ohio Man Arrested, Charged with Homicide by Vehicle for Fatal Route 22 Crash

SALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — Ricardo Hardy, of South Euclid, Ohio, has been arrested and charged with homicide by vehicle for his involvement in a fatal crash that occurred on Route 22 in Salem Township in July 2023. Hardy was taken into custody in Ohio by Pennsylvania State Police troopers this week.

The accident, which involved three vehicles, took place near Route 819. Hardy was driving an SUV that was part of the collision, and a juvenile passenger in his vehicle was transported to a hospital in critical condition, described as unconscious at the time.

Investigators gathered accounts from multiple witnesses at the scene, who provided details about the moments leading up to the deadly crash. The investigation led to Hardy’s arrest and subsequent charges.
