Man Shot in Northeast Philadelphia; Police Detain Person of Interest

PHILADELPHIA — A 22-year-old man was injured in a shooting early Saturday morning on Colgate Street in Northeast Philadelphia, according to authorities. Officers from the 2nd District responded to the scene at approximately 4:51 a.m. after receiving reports of gunfire.

The victim, identified as a Hispanic male, was found with a gunshot wound to his left elbow. Police transported him to Einstein Medical Center, where he is reported to be in stable condition.

The scene is currently being held as investigators work to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No weapons have been recovered at this time. However, a person of interest has been taken into custody and is being questioned by detectives.
