Ohio Tattoo Artist Arrested for Alleged Rape at Gunpoint in Franklin County

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 22-year-old tattoo artist is in custody after allegedly raping a woman at gunpoint in his Franklin County home, according to authorities. Mario Rodriguez Ibarra was arrested on Friday by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office following the disturbing incident.

According to records reviewed by WBNS, a CBS affiliate in Columbus, the victim, whose identity has not been publicly disclosed, told police that she and Ibarra had communicated on Facebook before arranging for her to come to his home for a tattoo.

The report indicates that Ibarra, along with a male acquaintance, picked the woman up from her residence and drove her to Ibarra’s house. Once inside Ibarra’s bedroom, he allegedly produced a firearm, forcibly removed the woman’s clothing, and raped her, the report said.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office has not released further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the arrest. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be pending as authorities continue to gather evidence in the case.
