Elderly Woman Attacked in Queens, Fugitive At Large

Queens, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department is seeking assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an assault on an elderly woman in Queens earlier this month. The incident occurred on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at approximately 2:08 p.m. near the intersection of 63rd Street and Queens Boulevard.

According to police reports, a 76-year-old woman was approached by an unidentified male who pushed her to the ground. The assault caused injuries to the victim’s lower back and right hip. The suspect then fled the scene on foot, heading westbound on Queens Boulevard. Emergency Medical Services responded and transported the victim to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was treated and is in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a male with a heavy build and light complexion. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, a light pink T-shirt, khaki shorts, and carrying a white plastic bag.

The NYPD is urging anyone with information on the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to contact authorities.

“We are actively investigating this incident and ask that anyone with information reach out to the police,” the New York City Police Department said in a statement.
