Delaware State Police Investigate Armed Robbery at Wilmington Valero Gas Station

WILMINGTON, Del. — The Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place early this morning at a Valero gas station in the Wilmington area.

The incident occurred on August 27, 2024, at approximately 12:11 a.m., when troopers were dispatched to the Valero located at 1327 McKennans Church Road following a report of a robbery. According to the preliminary investigation, a white male suspect entered the gas station, approached an employee while brandishing a firearm, and demanded money from the cash register. The employee complied with the suspect’s demands, and the suspect fled the scene on foot in a southbound direction, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a white male who was wearing dark-colored clothing and a mask at the time of the robbery. Surveillance video and images have not yet been released.

The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Robbery Unit is leading the investigation. Detectives are urging anyone with information related to this case to contact Detective D. Patterson at (302) 365-8404.
