Newark Police Seek Public’s Help to Identify Vandalism Suspect at Market Street Chipotle

NEWARK, N.J. — The Newark Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an act of criminal mischief at a Chipotle Mexican Grill on Market Street.

On August 14, 2024, at around midnight, a male suspect was captured on surveillance video kicking and shattering the glass door of the Chipotle located in the 200 block of Market Street. The suspect, described as having a dark complexion, medium build, and dreadlocks, was wearing a white shirt, grey pants, and black sneakers at the time of the incident.

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé is urging anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity to contact the Newark Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All tips are confidential, and there may be a reward for information leading to an arrest.

The Newark Police Department appreciates the community’s support in helping to identify the individual responsible for this act of vandalism.
