One Dead, Another Injured in Dorchester Shooting

BOSTON, Mass. — A shooting in the Dorchester neighborhood on Monday afternoon has left one man dead and another with life-threatening injuries. Boston Police responded to the scene near the intersection of Washington Street and Erie Street at approximately 12:55 p.m., following reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, officers from District C-11 found two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to local hospitals, where one was later pronounced dead. The second victim is expected to survive his injuries.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the incident was not a random act. The Boston Police Department’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
