AKRON, OH – The Akron Police Department and Akron Fire Department are evacuating residents and businesses within a half-mile radius of a commercial fire at 1081 Rosemary Blvd. The fire, which broke out earlier today, involves chemicals stored in the building, creating a hazardous material situation.

Officials have deemed the area unsafe due to the burning chemicals and are urging the public to avoid the vicinity. The city has designated the Firestone Park Community Center, located at 1480 Girard St., as a reunification center for those displaced by the evacuation.
