Elderly Woman Stable After Being Forcibly Robbed in the Bronx

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in an attempted robbery on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, in the Bronx. The incident occurred around 3:40 p.m. in front of 3998 White Plains Road when an unidentified individual approached an 81-year-old woman and tried to forcibly take her bag.

During the struggle, the victim was dragged to the ground, suffering injuries to her elbows and knees. The suspect fled on foot, heading eastbound on East 226 Street.

Thankfully, the victim was transported to Montefiore Medical Center by EMS and is in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a male, approximately 18 years old, with a slim build and dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a black and gray beanie, a blue hoodie, blue jeans, and sneakers.
