Two Men Arrested in Connection with May Shooting in Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, DE – Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred on May 21, 2024, in the area of 400 N. Catherine St. in Middletown, Delaware. Middletown Police responded to the scene after reports of gunfire, where one individual was found injured and later admitted to the hospital.

Following a thorough investigation by the Middletown Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit, with assistance from the Delaware State Police, Elijah Haynes, 21, of Middletown, and Demetrius Lyn-Brown, 21, of Bear, were arrested on August 28, 2024.

Both men have been charged with Assault 1st Degree, Reckless Endangering 1st Degree, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Conspiracy 2nd Degree.

Lyn-Brown was arraigned and issued a $128,000 cash bail, while Haynes received a $43,000 cash bail. Both were committed to the Department of Corrections after failing to post bail.
