Lehigh County coroner releases details in Allentown murder-suicide

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office has released the identities and causes of death in an apparent murder-suicide that occurred on September 5 in Allentown.

Livi E. Beltran Fernandez was killed by multiple gunshot wounds, and her death has been ruled a homicide. Jesus J. Cruz Ortiz, the sole suspect, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. His death has been classified as a suicide, authorities confirmed.

According to the Allentown Police Department, no other individuals are believed to be involved in the incident. While the investigation remains ongoing, officials stated that no further criminal conduct appears likely.

The Allentown Police and Lehigh County Coroner’s Office continue to gather additional information regarding the case.
