Allegheny County police arrest suspect in Dormont bank robbery

DORMONT, Pa. — A 58-year-old Pittsburgh man has been arrested in connection with a robbery at the Dollar Bank on West Liberty Avenue in Dormont Borough on September 3, 2024.

John Flick was identified as the suspect following an investigation by the Allegheny County Police General Investigations Unit, the FBI Violent Crime Task Force, and Dormont Police. Flick allegedly entered the bank wearing a partial facial covering and made a verbal demand for money from a teller. No weapon was displayed during the robbery. Flick reportedly reached over the counter and took an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene.

On September 5, 2024, Flick was taken into custody by Mount Lebanon Police on an unrelated warrant. He is now facing charges including robbery by oral or written demand, theft, receiving stolen property, and terroristic threats. Flick is currently being held at the Allegheny County Jail awaiting arraignment.
