Driver arrested for DWI in Bayville following reports of erratic driving

BAYVILLE, N.J. — A Lanoka Harbor man was arrested for driving while intoxicated on August 10 after several reports of aggressive driving, according to Berkeley Township Police.

Patrolman Harold Hester responded to Station Road after receiving multiple calls about a gray Dodge Durango swerving on the road. The vehicle was later found parked in the middle of the parking lot at a Sinclair gas station.

The driver, identified as Jose Torres-Ramirez, 38, was arrested after officers detected a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. Torres-Ramirez was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, and Open Alcoholic Beverage in a Vehicle. His vehicle was impounded under John’s Law, and he was released pending a court appearance.
