46-year-old man fatally shot in the Bronx, police investigating

BRONX, N.Y. — A 46-year-old man was shot and killed early Monday morning in the Bronx, police said.

At approximately 7:45 a.m. on September 9, 2024, officers responded to a 911 call of a person shot near East 216th Street and Paulding Avenue in the 47th Precinct. Upon arrival, officers found Denver Bernard, 46, unconscious and unresponsive, with multiple gunshot wounds. EMS pronounced Bernard dead at the scene.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.

The victim, identified as Denver Bernard, lived at 1004 East 216th Street in the Bronx. Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward as they continue to investigate the shooting.
