STAFFORD, Va. — Two male Golden Doodles were rescued from the shoulder of I-95 on Sunday afternoon by Stafford County sheriff’s deputies.

Deputies R.A. Peterson and O.J. Martins responded to a report of two dogs running loose near the Truslow Road overpass. Upon arrival, they found the dogs, affectionately named “50 Scent” and “L.L. Drool J,” wandering along the highway.

Using catch poles, the deputies were able to safely corral the dogs and bring them to safety. The animals are currently being held at the Stafford County Animal Shelter while authorities wait for the owner to come forward.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office shared the incident on social media, referencing the dogs’ apparent adventurous spirit with humorous nods to famous musicians.
