Stafford County deputy rescues puppy from storm drain

STAFFORD, Va. — A Stafford County sheriff’s deputy rescued a 1-month-old pitbull puppy from a storm drain on Sunday evening.

Deputy R.A. Peterson responded to a call at the Villages of Aquia at around 6:20 p.m. after reports of a puppy trapped in a sewer. According to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, the puppy, named “Brad Pittbull,” had fallen through a storm drain.

Deputy Peterson removed the manhole cover and climbed into the storm drain, where she safely retrieved the uninjured puppy. The dog was later returned to its owners.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office shared the incident on social media, humorously noting that the puppy may have been “trying to locate the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.”
