BALTIMORE, Md. — Two $50,000-winning Powerball Double Play tickets were sold in the Washington, D.C., suburbs during the Monday, Sept. 9 drawing, the Maryland Lottery announced Tuesday. The winning tickets were purchased in Germantown and Fort Washington.
The winning Double Play numbers were 10, 14, 38, 42, 45, with a Power Ball of 26. One of the winning tickets was sold at the Cedar Grove Store on Ridge Road in Germantown, while the second was purchased at Livingston Mobile on Livingston Road in Fort Washington.
These tickets mark the fourth and fifth third-tier Double Play wins in Maryland this year.
Double Play offers players a second chance to win with the same ticket numbers in a drawing that takes place 30 minutes after the main Powerball drawing. The feature costs $1 and allows players to win up to $10 million.
While the next Powerball drawing on Sept. 11 offers a $134 million jackpot, the Mega Millions drawing tonight boasts an estimated $800 million annuity. Winners are urged to sign the backs of their tickets and store them safely. They have 182 days to claim their prizes.
