PGPD investigating fatal motorcycle crash in Cheverly

CHEVERLY, Md. — The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle that occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Cheverly. The victim has been identified as 40-year-old Donnell Floyd of Clinton, Maryland.

The crash took place on September 10, 2024, at approximately 1:00 p.m. at the intersection of Landover Road and Cheverly Avenue. Officers from the Cheverly Police Department responded to the scene, where Floyd was critically injured after his motorcycle collided with an SUV. He succumbed to his injuries shortly after the crash.

The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and was not injured. Investigators are currently working to determine the cause of the collision.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is responsible for investigating all fatal crashes in the town of Cheverly.
