Wilkes-Barre police investigating stabbing incident

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — Wilkes-Barre City police are investigating an aggravated assault after a 38-year-old male was admitted to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital with a stab wound on the evening of September 9, 2024.

Officers were dispatched to the hospital at approximately 10:17 p.m., where the victim, a Wilkes-Barre resident, was found with a puncture wound to his left shoulder. The victim was uncooperative with officers and only stated that the stabbing occurred “somewhere in Wilkes-Barre.”

The investigation into the incident is ongoing. Police have not yet identified a specific location or suspect involved in the stabbing.
