Large police presence on Route 50 in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, Md. — Heavy police activity was reported near Shoal Creek Mall and the Exxon gas station at the intersection of Route 50 and Cedar Street, according to the Cambridge Police Department.

In a social media post Tuesday morning, the department stated they are assisting Maryland State Police in connection with an incident that took place in neighboring Talbot County. Authorities did not provide further details on the nature of the incident.

The police urged residents to avoid the area while the situation is ongoing. No injuries or arrests have been confirmed at this time.
