Police Seek Suspect in $27k Staten Island Macy’s Jewelry Theft

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a grand larceny incident that occurred at a Macy’s store on Sunday afternoon.

According to authorities, the theft took place at approximately 2:24 p.m. at the Macy’s located at 2655 Richmond Avenue. An unidentified individual entered the store and requested to see a ring valued at $27,500. When the employee placed the ring on the counter, the suspect grabbed the item and fled the store on foot, heading southbound on Platinum Avenue.

No injuries were reported during the incident.

The suspect is described as a male with a light complexion and a beard, standing approximately 5 feet, 5 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap with a graphic and black sneakers.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to contact them.
