Rockland County Cyber K9 Dog Named After Hero Red Bandana Man From 9/11

Rockland County, NY – The Rockland County District Attorney’s Office has unveiled K9 Remy, Rockland County’s first “cyber dog” trained to detect electronic devices. Remy is named after Welles Remy Crowther, the 9/11 hero recognized as the “man in the red bandana” who saved over a dozen people during the attack on the south tower.

Remy’s primary role is to assist in investigations by sniffing out electronic devices. This capability provides a unique advantage in locating items that might otherwise be overlooked in searches.

The community can learn more about K9 Remy’s introduction and her significance through a report by Tony Aiello at CBS New York, available online. Remy’s name not only highlights her specialized skills but also honors a legacy of bravery and selflessness.
