Lottery scratch off tickets for sale

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A Washington, D.C. resident and taxi driver experienced an unexpected windfall last week when he won $50,000 from a second-tier scratch-off ticket.

According to Lottery officials, the man, who works as a taxi driver and drives for a ride-hailing service, purchased a $1 Million Royale scratch-off ticket while fueling his vehicle at Colesville Road Exxon. He regularly buys scratch-off tickets during his workday breaks.

On a recent stop at the gas station, he bought two instant tickets and both were winners. Deciding to try his luck further, he purchased a $20 $1 Million Royale ticket. He usually does not purchase higher-priced tickets but felt it was a good moment to do so.

Upon checking the ticket using the store’s prize scanner, the driver was surprised to see a large sum indicated. He recounted seeing numerous zeros and realizing he had won $50,000. Due to the win, he had to compose himself quickly as he had a fare to pick up.

The man shared that the prize money would alleviate a longstanding debt that has been a significant worry for him, describing the win
