Man Arrested for Wallet and Purse Theft in Utica

Utica, NY – On Tuesday, Utica Police officers responded to a theft incident in the 1000 block of West St. The call pertained to a stolen wallet and purse.

Upon arrival, the officers were informed by employees of a business in the area. The employees had seen a man steal the items on the establishment’s surveillance camera. The suspect, James Greene, 59, of Utica, returned the stolen property when confronted.

Following this, Mr. Greene was taken into custody and transported to the Utica Police Department. He was charged with Grand Larceny in the fourth degree. The incident highlights the vigilance of local business establishments and their cooperation with law enforcement in addressing theft.
