Smash and Grab Suspect Sought by New York State Police

ALBANY, N.Y. — New York State Police (NYSP) are requesting public assistance in identifying two individuals linked to several “smash and grab” thefts in Broome County.

The incidents have mainly occurred at parks, where purses, wallets, checkbooks, and cards have been stolen from vehicles.

Law enforcement agencies have reported that some vehicles were unlocked, while others had windows smashed to gain entry.

Authorities have released photos of the suspects and their vehicle, a BMW X6, in connection with these crimes.

Residents are advised not to leave valuables in plain sight inside locked cars and to ensure vehicles are always locked.

No arrests have been made, and investigations are ongoing. Police urge anyone with information about the suspects to contact NYSP at (607) 561-7400.
