Wilkes-Barre police investigate handgun discharge incident near food trucks

WILKES-BARRE, PA— On Saturday, officers from the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department responded to a reported handgun firing incident in the vicinity of 140 North Wilkes-Barre Boulevard.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:48 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers learned from witnesses that a male suspect had been discharging a firearm near several food trucks in the area.

The suspect fled the scene in a gray vehicle lacking a license plate.

No injuries or property damage were reported, and officers collected evidence from the scene.

According to police, the suspect is described as a Black male between 18 and 20 years old.

The investigation is ongoing.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
