New York Motorcyclist Charged for Hit and Run Incident That Left Child Critical

OCEAN CITY, MD — The Ocean City Police Department is seeking public assistance in their investigation of a hit-and-run collision that left a juvenile pedestrian in critical condition. Witnesses or anyone with information on the incident are being asked to contact the police.

The incident occurred on September 13, at 12th Street and Philadelphia Ave, around 9:34 p.m. The collision involved a motorcyclist, identified as Michael Scot Schneider, 51, of Ballston Spa, New York.

Schneider was arrested following the collision and is currently held without bond at the Worcester County Jail. The police department urges anyone with information or surveillance footage to contact PFC Panitch via email at bpanitch@oceancitymd.gov or call the Tip Line at 410-520-5136.
