Virginia Beach police arrest man linked to 32 larceny cases

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA– The Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) announced the arrest of Jerome London El in connection to 32 retail larceny cases on Thursday.

The arrest came after a four-month investigation into thefts occurring between May 25 and September 11.

London El was apprehended using Flock License Plate Reader technology.

He was taken to the Virginia Beach Correctional Center on 13 warrants from Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, and Norfolk.

Authorities allege that London El stole merchandise valued at over $25,000 from Virginia Beach retailers alone.

In total, VBPD cleared 32 cases related to his arrest.

The 46-year-old suspect faces charges including six felony counts of stolen property with intent to sell, six felony counts of grand larceny, one felony count of possession of a Schedule I or II substance, two misdemeanor counts of petit larceny, and
