73-Year-Old Man Struck, Critically Injured in West view

West View, PA – The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating an incident in which a vehicle struck a pedestrian in the area of Perry Highway and Wellington Drive.

At 7:54 PM Thursday, County 9-1-1 received a call reporting a vehicle had hit a pedestrian. Emergency responders found a critically injured adult male at the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Preliminary findings indicate that the 73-year-old man was walking southbound on Perry Highway and was attempting to cross the road when he was struck by the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene following the incident.
