Chesapeake Beach Accident Involving Pedestrian Under Investigation

CHESAPEAKE BEACH, MD – On Thursday at approximately 8:43 a.m., Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Bureau responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the area of Bayside Road and Bristol Drive in Chesapeake Beach.

Deputies determined upon arrival that the pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and called the Crash Reconstruction Team for investigation. Preliminary findings reveal that a 2017 Toyota 4Runner, driven by Steven O’Neill, 42, of Chesapeake Beach, was traveling southbound on Bayside Road when the incident occurred.

The pedestrian, identified as Chloe Clagg, 20, of Chesapeake Beach, was running across Bayside Road into the travel lane when she was struck by the 4Runner. Clagg was transported to Capital Region Shock Trauma with serious injuries, while O’Neill was uninjured.
