STAFFORD, Va. – An auto accident has prompted lane closures on Richmond Highway near Tracey Street, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

Both lanes of southbound Richmond Highway are currently closed, along with one northbound lane. The incident was reported earlier this afternoon, and authorities are on scene managing traffic.

No details about the cause of the accident or potential injuries have been released.

Drivers are being urged to avoid the area and expect delays as crews work to clear the scene. There is no estimate on when the lanes will reopen.
