Pedestrian Struck and Kiled Overnight in Rockville

GAITHERSBURG, Md. – The Montgomery County Department of Police Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred Tuesday night in Rockville.

At approximately 9:12 p.m., officers and fire rescue personnel responded to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Hungerford Road and Beall Avenue. The collision involved a silver 2010 Nissan Maxima and 61-year-old Jose Rene Del Cid Ramos.

Ramos sustained multiple serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Preliminary findings indicate that the driver of the Nissan Maxima was traveling northbound on Hungerford Road when the vehicle struck Ramos. The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
