Police seek suspect in chain-snatching robbery in the Bronx

BRONX, N.Y. — Authorities are searching for a suspect involved in a robbery that left a 36-year-old woman injured on Friday, August 30, 2024. The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. in front of 1220 Gerard Avenue.

According to police, the victim was approached from behind by an unidentified individual, who forcibly snatched a chain from her neck, causing pain and bruising to the right side of her neck. The suspect fled the scene on foot, heading westbound on West 169th Street.

The suspect is described as a male with a light complexion and medium build, last seen wearing light-colored clothing. The victim refused medical attention at the scene.
