Stolen Vehicle Recovered in Maryland After Report in Wilkes-Barre

WILKES-BARRE, PA – Authorities were called to a residence on South Welles Street on September 24th for a reported vehicle theft. Wilkes-Barre City Police Department officers responded to the scene at approximately 4:15 PM.

A 23-year-old woman from Wilkes-Barre informed the police that she noticed her Hyundai Sonata had been stolen around 3:45 PM. The victim had just exited her residence when she discovered the vehicle missing.

Following the initial report, deputies from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office in Maryland contacted Wilkes-Barre officers. They informed that the stolen vehicle had been recovered.

The investigation into the vehicle theft remains ongoing. Further details may be released as the investigation progresses.
