Cambridge police investigating shooting that left one injured

CAMBRIDGE, Md. — Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Saturday night, leaving a 27-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg, according to a press release from the Cambridge Police Department.

Officers were alerted to the scene at around 8:59 p.m. by a ShotSpotter notification reporting multiple gunshots fired in the 1000 block of Pine St. Shortly afterward, Dorchester County Emergency Services Dispatch received a call about a victim with a gunshot wound in the 600 block of North Drive.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the male victim, who was transported to Tidal Health Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Investigators discovered three vehicles damaged by gunfire, as well as multiple spent shell casings from both handgun and rifle ammunition. Several bullet projectiles were also recovered at the scene.
