Major crash shuts down Tennent Road in Marlboro

MARLBORO TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A section of Tennent Road was closed Tuesday following a motor vehicle crash that damaged a telephone pole and downed wires, according to the Marlboro Township Police Department. The closure spans from Greenwood Road to Wooleytown Road.

Authorities responded to the scene after the crash, and a detour is expected to be set up to redirect traffic. Officers are currently stationed at the site to manage the road closure and ensure safety.

Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) has been alerted to the situation and is expected to dispatch crews to the location to address the damaged pole and restore the downed wires.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area as crews work to clear the scene. The police have not provided an estimated time for when the road will reopen.
