Three juveniles arrested for armed carjacking in Gaithersburg

GAITHERSBURG, Md. — Montgomery County Police have arrested three juvenile males in connection with an armed carjacking that took place on Friday, September 27, 2024, in the 13700 block of Colgate Way. The suspects, one 17-year-old and two 15-year-olds, were apprehended the following day.

Officers from the 3rd District responded to the scene around 9:45 p.m. after receiving a report of an armed carjacking. Investigators revealed that the suspects physically assaulted the female victim as she exited her vehicle in a parking lot. The suspects stole her car keys and cellphone before fleeing in her vehicle. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Saturday, September 28, police located the carjacked Lexus at a 7-Eleven on Lockwood Drive, where they arrested all three suspects after they exited the vehicle.

The 17-year-old suspect was charged as an adult with armed carjacking and related offenses and was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. The two 15-year-olds were taken to a juvenile detention center and face the same charges. All three suspects are being held without bond.
