Penn Hills Fugitive Captured After Ten Month Run from Law

PITTSBURGH, PA – A Penn Hills man wanted for several charges since January has been captured and detained, according to an announcement by Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus.

Sofion Moore, 32, was on the run after bench warrants were issued for him earlier this year. He faced charges due to his failure to appear for a status conference related to firearms, as well as a probation violation in a separate burglary case. There was also an outstanding warrant for his escape from Renewal Inc. in December 2023.

Last week, detectives began tracking Moore’s movements, culminating in narrowing his location to an address on Bellaire Place in Brookline. Upon arriving at the address on Tuesday, law enforcement officers found Moore hiding under a table in a dining room.

Moore was subsequently arrested without any reported incidents and was transported to the Allegheny County Jail. His arrest marks the end of months spent evading law enforcement for his outstanding charges.
