Off-duty NYPD officer arrested on larceny charges in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — An off-duty New York City Police Department officer was arrested Wednesday afternoon in Brooklyn on charges of petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, according to authorities.

The officer, identified as 22-year-old Obeed Ahmed, was taken into custody at approximately 2:17 p.m. within the confines of the 63rd Precinct.

Ahmed faces charges of petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree. Details regarding the alleged incident leading to the arrest have not been disclosed.

The NYPD has not commented on the arrest of the officer, who remains under investigation.
