Wilkes-Barre Assault Incident Leads to Arrest

Wilkes-Barre, PA – A domestic dispute on Darling Street in Wilkes-Barre resulted in the arrest of a local resident. The incident occurred on Wednesday, October 2nd, at approximately 9:19 AM.

Officers from the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department responded to a report of an assault. Upon arrival, they found a 25-year-old female victim with a laceration on her left eyebrow, which was actively bleeding.

According to the victim, she was involved in a verbal altercation with 35-year-old Dennis Rivera. During the altercation, Rivera allegedly struck her in the face with a lighter and then left the scene.

Police located Rivera walking on North Main Street shortly after and detained him without incident. Rivera was then transported to City Headquarters for processing and arraignment. EMS personnel treated the victim at the scene.
