Yonkers man shot dead in Bronx’s Norwood neighborhood

BRONX, N.Y. — A 40-year-old man from Yonkers was fatally shot Wednesday afternoon in the Norwood neighborhood of the Bronx, police said. The victim, identified as Kavon Reid, was found with gunshot wounds to the chest and leg.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:47 p.m. at the intersection of East 198th Street and Bainbridge Avenue, within the confines of the 52nd Precinct. Officers responded to a 911 call and discovered Reid unconscious and unresponsive at the scene.

EMS transported Reid to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition. He later succumbed to his injuries, according to authorities.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. Police are continuing to search for information regarding the shooter.
