Police seek suspects in armed carjacking of scooter in Southwest Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA — Southwest Detective Division is searching for three suspects involved in an armed carjacking that occurred early Thursday morning in Southwest Philadelphia. The incident took place on the 5800 block of Woodland Avenue around midnight on September 26.

According to police, three unidentified Black males approached the victim and stole a blue 2023 Yiben Fly Wing 200 scooter at gunpoint. One of the suspects, described as wearing a burgundy sweat outfit, was armed with a gun. A second suspect was described as wearing a black coat and pants, while the third suspect’s description remains unknown.

The stolen vehicle bears temporary Pennsylvania license plate number 61DD6 and has the VIN# LYDY3TBBXP1500586.

Authorities are urging the public not to approach the suspects if seen and to immediately contact 911.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are working to locate the suspects and the stolen scooter.
