Boston Man Arrested in Drug Sweep

Boston, MA – Erick Matos, a 24-year-old from Boston, was arrested Thursday at approximately 2:20 PM. The arrest was executed by officers from the Drug Control Units of Districts A-1, D-4, and E-5 in connection with firearm and drug offenses.

Officers were conducting an investigation at 75 Boylston Street due to reports of illegal drug activity. During surveillance, they observed an alleged drug transaction involving two men. One suspect was stopped and later summoned to court for Possession of Class B substances.

The investigation led officers to the second suspect on Winter Street. When approached by the officers, the suspect resisted by refusing to place his hands behind his back but was eventually handcuffed after multiple commands from the officers.

A search of the suspect revealed a firearm, identified as an M&P Shield, with one round in the chamber and seven rounds in the magazine. Additionally, two plastic bags of crack cocaine were discovered. Matos faces charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Class B drug offenses. He will be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
