Teenager Dies from Injuries in Bronx Shooting, Now Investigated as Homicide

Bronx, NY — A 16-year-old boy, Kemari Sanders, has died from injuries sustained in an August shooting, and the case is now being investigated as a homicide, the New York City Police Department announced. Sanders, who resided on East 172 Street in the Bronx, succumbed to his injuries on Friday, October 4, 2024.

The shooting occurred on August 23, 2024, at approximately 12:40 a.m., near the corner of Bryant Avenue and Jennings Street. The victim was walking in the area when an unidentified suspect fired a shot, striking Sanders in the neck. The shooter fled the scene heading northbound on Bryant Avenue.

Authorities are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the suspect connected to the incident.
