Milton Single-Vehicle Fatal Crash Investigated by Delaware State Police

Milton, DE – Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred early this morning involving a single vehicle in Milton.

On Sunday, a 66-year-old man from Lewes was driving a Toyota Corolla eastbound on Stockley Road at around 12:13 a.m. The vehicle, traveling at high speed, left the road for unknown reasons, striking a mailbox and continuing through a front yard before crashing into a tree.

The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

Stockley Road remained closed for approximately two and a half hours as the Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit conducted an investigation and cleared the area. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging witnesses to contact Senior Corporal J. Smith or report information to Delaware Crime Stoppers.
