COLUMBIA, Md. — Howard County police are investigating a shooting that injured two juveniles on Thursday night in Columbia.

Officers responded to the 8800 block of Centre Park Drive at approximately 9:10 p.m., where they found two male victims, ages 17 and 16, suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Preliminary reports suggest the shooting occurred in a parking lot of the shopping center near the location. Police have not released any suspect information.

Authorities do not believe this incident is connected to a homicide discovered earlier in the day in the same area. The investigation is ongoing.
